The 2020 Copa América, held in Porto Alegre, Brazil, crowned Brazil as champions for the third consecutive time. The competition brought together four top teams: Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Ecuador. After an impeccable campaign, the Brazilian team defeated Mexico in the final, maintaining its position at the top of the football 7 scene in the continent. Organized by the Football 7 Federation, the event was a spectacle of skill and intensity.

The standout feature of the competition was the individual performances, with Brazil dominating the awards. Wesley Neiva from Brazil was named the best player, while Diego Balbo secured the best goalkeeper award. Marco Antonio Batata was also awarded the best coach for his outstanding leadership throughout the tournament. Mexico, although finishing in second place, had their striker Tadeo Gonzalez as the tournament’s top scorer.
