Mexico shines and wins the first Copa América de Futebol 7 in 2017

The first edition of the Copa América de Futebol 7 took place in 2017 in Lima, Peru, with the participation of six teams: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, Mexico, and the host team, Peru. The tournament brought together top stars of the sport and attracted a large audience, who followed 14 thrilling matches leading up to the grand final.

In the decisive match, Mexico demonstrated its strength by defeating Brazil 3-1 to be crowned champions. The Mexican team showed a solid performance throughout the competition, showcasing high technical skills and attacking efficiency. The event was organized in partnership between the Super Liga Fut7 and Football 7 International, marking a milestone in the international football 7 calendar.

In addition to the title, Mexico also dominated the individual awards. Bogar Moreno was named the best player, while Hugo Rodrigues finished as the tournament's top scorer. Brazil also stood out, with Rodrigo Rocha being awarded the best goalkeeper. The best coach award went to Miguel Angel, coach of the Mexican national team.
